If I don't have the recording, then Nick Colby (UC Irvine, emeritus) has it. You can see the date, and the name of the transcriber, Jacinto de Paz Pérez (Xhas Sijom in Ixil), who I taught to write Ixil in 1969: in 1974, he was about 21 years old. The speaker, Xhas Ko7w, was way into his 60s or even 70s at the time. You might find his date of birth in the book The Daykeeper, by Nick and Lore Colby." |
