Announcing New Mixtec Language Materials in Two Collections

AILLA is pleased to announce that some products of a recent NEH-funded pilot project are now publicly available. After adding over 350 PDF files to the MesoAmerican Languages Collection of Kathryn Josserand, most Mixtec-language audio recordings in that collection now have a scanned image of the handwritten transcriptions produced by Josserand and her collaborators. Additionally, digital transcriptions of 74 of these handwritten documents have been made by volunteer transcribers through our TranscribeAILLA project and are available in the Transcriptions of Mixtec Language Surveys collection along with CSV datasets of responses to many of the items in the syntax questionnaires found in Josserand's collection. Syntax survey transcription is ongoing and new transcriptions and datasets will be added as they become available.
