Description | This collection consists of the only existing audio/video files of the Cholón language, thought to be dormant ("extinct") for quite a few decades. The data has been collected with Martha Pérez Valderrama, the last rememberer/semi-speaker of the language, in the city of Juanjui, Loreto, Peru. Some regionalisms of potential Cholón origin were collected with Gomer Mesa, in the village of Cachicoto, Huánuco, Perú. The data collection was sponsored by the University of Tübingen. Research was funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG - Project Number UR 310/1-1, PI: Matthias Urban). |
