Description | For her dissertation research, Riestenberg asked the Macuiltianguis Zapotec learners to complete an elicitation imitation task (EIT). This resource contains the audio stimulus for this EIT and a document listing the Zapotec words spoken in the audio file along with their Spanish translations. The lexical items in the task drew on phrases that had been used during classroom lessons, and were selected to avoid words that involved tone alternations. Riestenberg checked these words for accuracy with the Zapotec instructor and then recorded them with a different native Zapotec speaker. More about this EIT's design can be found in pages 129-132 of Riestenberg's 2017 dissertation and the results of the task are discussed throughout chapter 6 beginning on page 133. |
