I'm going to present the intransitive root inventory of two Mayan languages, pocomam and tzotzil, in order to be able to examine the processes of persistence, loss and renewal in this area of the lexicon. It is an exploratory and preliminary study to see the problems encountered and the type of results that can be achieved
