| Description | In this paper we provide a preliminary description of negation in Koasati. In particular, we examine the interaction of negation with the various verb classes established by Haas (1946a) on the basis of subject cross-reference marking. Although most verbal inflection appears to be independent of verb class, we show that the method of negation used with a verb, like subject cross-reference marking, depends on the class of the verb being negated. |
