DescriptionThis recording documents the interview with don Martiniano and his wife doña Rosa, natives of Villa las Rosas. They relate the activities that have been performed in the town such as making traditional clothing, hats, shoes, cooking utensils, cotton production. Both of them relate the life of the town, of their parents and of their own lives such as their wedding, the relationship they maintain with their relatives and the relations that obtain between the Tseltals and the mestizos. Similarly they tell some stories about things that happened in the town such as the arrival of the k'ulub (a kind of plague) that destroyed the crops; bedbugs; and other things....
