DescriptionThis is one of the recordings of k’anuj tek’ul en Todos del Santos made in Tojol-ab’al for the Tojol-ab'al Language Documentation Project, actors 047, recorded in Tojol-ab’al in 2002-11-01. The theme is k’anuj tek’ul, which is a custom that they do all year to remember the dead and to demonstrate that they come to request fruit, this is done in the night of the 1st of November, the dead also are said to eat the fruit that is left for them after these dates. The investigators and producers were 017 and 022. The recording was made by 017. It was produced in the Tojol-ab’al community of Ingeniero Gonzales de León, Municipio de Las Margaritas, Chiapas, México.
