DescriptionThis is one of the recordings of carnival which was made in Tojol-ab'al for the Tojol-ab'al Language Documentation Project, informant 023, recorded in Tojol-ab'al on 2003-03-21. The subject is ta’an k’oy yi’jel ja’, this is the other form more of the carnival, they baptize the smallest child of all the actors known as (xutilo) in Tojol-ab'al. This takes place over a few days every April or May, depending on the date of Easter, also known as lo'il in Tojol-ab'al and carnaval in Spanish. The recording is made in Tojol-ab'al. The investigators/producers were 017 and 022. It was produced in the Tojol-ab'al community Ingeniero Gonzales de León, Municipio de Las Margaritas, Chiapas, México.
