DescriptionThis is a rough transcription and translation of a short text describing how people in San Baltazar Loxicha grow, process, and earn a living off of corn. It was made by the narrator of the text, Lázaro Díaz Pacheco. I plan to archive the recording at AILLA. A more advanced draft of the text exists in a Shoebox database and is available from me personally until such time as it is ready to be published. However, this original draft reveals linguistic features which have been obscured in other drafts by standardization, e.g. the original spelling reveals the local pronunciation of the Spanish word 'antonces', changed to 'entonces' in later drafts.
