| Description | Two women tell us about the celebration of the second Friday. It has always been celebrated by our grandparents. People come to sell various things. They sell clay pots in varieties of sizes. Jugs, threads, bracelets, salt that comes from Sacapulas, jackets, plates, and plastics are all things that are sold. There is the first Friday, second Friday, third Friday, fourth Friday, fifth Friday, and the sixth Friday is already Holy Week. The second Friday passes in two months. It is sometimes celebrated in February or March. What our grandparents used to sell are k’itche’, tchanak, baskets made of straw, and soap. Many other things happen in the Catholic church, and they climb the hill of San Andrés and make a great celebration there. They also do a grandparents ceremony; what they want is to have a healthy life. |
