| Description | This resource contains three items: MAYA002R003I001: This is an article in English that was published in Spanish in 1975 in Guatemala as Proyecto de alfabetos y ortografías para escribir las lenguas mayances. This was part of the Proyecto Lingüístico Francisco Marroquín, and it was written by Terrence Kaufman, Department of Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh. MAYA002R003I002: This is an Appendix for I001 about some rational orthographies currently or formerly in official or semi-official use in Spanish-speaking Latin America. It contains phonological charts, explanatory texts and maps. MAYA002R003I003: This is a description about Indigenous languages from Guatemala arranged by genetic clasification and geographical distribution with every dialect spoken and the place where it is spoken; it also includes the number of the population who speak the language (census from 1964).
