DescriptionThese sound files are recordings of Dr. Kaufman's lectures for the Indigenous Mesoamerican Writing Systems class that he gave at the University of Pittsburgh during the fall semester in 1994. The class was listed as Anthropology 1446 & Linguistics 1446: Topics in Anthropological Linguistics. The writing systems covered in the course include Mayan, Epi-Olmec, Zapotec, Mixtec, and Aztec.

There are only 2 textual documents. I043 is a course announcement and description; I044 is a handout for the class.
