| Description | These annotated field notes were started as part of a UCLA course in linguistic field methods, in which we studied the Pima language (a dialect of O’odham, ISO code: ood) with a native speaker. My fieldwork continued beyond the duration of the course and formed the basis for my masters’ thesis, doctoral qualifying paper and the doctoral dissertation. This study examined a wide range of properties of Pima, including syntactic and morphological structure, lexical properties of a range of lexical items, phonological patterns and phonetic properties of vowels.
