DescriptionThis large collection of audio recordings from the 1960's includes songs, myths, Wayamó trade talk, narratives and Brazilian National Museum word list elicitations for many Amazonian languages, some of which are now extinct. There are also recordings in several languages of Panama.

Plantation Song
The Máku numbered about 200 in 1826. Located in the upper Uraricoera River (Territorio Federal de Roraima, Brazil). In 1959 there were only three speakers left (one man Sinfrônio Magalhães, 45, his older sister, 50, and his younger sister Maria Magalhães 35). They lived in the lower Uraricoera River with the Makushi (Carib) in the village of Boqueirão. By 1999 the last Makú speakers had died., Los maku numeron alrededor de 200 en 1826.
