This file contains the data appearing in the appendix of Sullivant (2016) but formatted in a tab-delimited text file to facilitate easier reuse of the material. Columns: id_belmar: the entry number in Francisco Belmar's list id_peñafiel: the entry number the item in Antonio Peñafiel's Survey of Comparative Zapotec Vocabulary gloss_es: the Spanish text of the prompt gloss_en: the English translation of the prompt belmar_tjm: diplomatic transcription of the Teojomulco Chatino forms in Belmar (1902) phonemic_tjm: phonemic analysis of the Teojomulco Chatino form according to Sullivant (2016) phonetic_tjm: phonetic interpretation of the Teojomulco Chatino form according to Sullivant (2016) morph_tjm: morphological analysis of the Teojomulco Chatino form according to Sullivant (2016) note: additional information about the Teojomulco Chatino in relation to other Zapotecan forms Symbols are used as in Sullivant (2016) except: - Nasal vowels are indicated by a following tilde - Capital S indicates the voiceless post-alveolar fricative - ! marks the beginning of a prominent/stressed syllable - 7 indicates a glottal stop - Capital N indicates a velar nasal - Symbols indicating secondary articulations are written in-line (i.e. kw, tj) rather than as superscripts |
